The mission of the Crossroads Center is the spiritual regeneration and rehabilitation of men who have an alcohol or drug addiction.
Faith-based support
The Crossroads program is unique among social agencies. It combines the Army’s fundamental spiritual aims with social work concepts and with practical concerns for the needs of the individual.
The residential center provides a good place to live in clean, wholesome surroundings. Participants in the program are exposed to opportunities for rebuilding their lives based on a personal relationship with God.
Within this setting of spiritual support, a personalized program is designed to repair the broken hopes of individuals who have treatable handicaps.
12-steps
This self-admitting program includes a 12-step recovery program with one-on-one and group counseling. Life skills classes and mental health counseling are also important elements of the program.
26-week commitment
Crossroads is also unique in terms of length of program. Many rehabilitation programs are shorter, usually about a month long. The commitment at Crossroads is for 26 weeks. This longer-term recovery process gives each participant a better chance at changing habits and building better lifestyles.

Work therapy A significant component at Crossroads is a job therapy, going to work every day. Work promotes personal satisfaction and a sense of self-worth while productivity encourages self-sufficiency.
The work program at Crossroads supports The Salvation Army Family Stores, which fully fund Crossroads. Family Store work activities include collection and repair of donated items for the stores. Restored materials are then sold at moderate prices. Crossroads participants also help staff the stores and assist with store displays.
The comprehensive program content at Crossroads combines spiritual support with social and psychological services, plus the practical application of sound business principles.
